PARALLEL PROGRAMS
EXPERIMENTAL COLLABORATION
This program focuses on the praxis of collaboration in experimental music and is intended for artists who wish to propose a displacement in the fieldwork practice. During your stay in Mykonos you will collaborate with our specialized guest artists on the creation and presentation of a new project which may include theater, improvisation, video or any element from other artistic fields. You will have an open space to experiment, rehearse and reflect on your practice. You are also welcome to use the Academy's facilities and equipment. All projects will be presented and recorded in a special performance. Priority for participation will be given to visiting composers and electronic composers/sound artists.
HALF DAY TRIP AND FIELD RECORDING IN DELOS
A half-day trip, to the sacred island of Apollo and Artemis, a famous religious and political center in Antiquity.
The whole territory of the deserted Delos is one of the most important archaeological sites of the eastern Mediterranean protected by Unesco as one of the Unesco heritage sites of the world. All participants will have the chance to record the unique soundscape of the island and use the material for their new works. If possible, please bring your microphones and/or other recording devices. A limited number of microphones will be available.
